Baby Barlow's sweet newborn smile, his perfect little wrinkles, and that tiny innocent cry sure did give this mama a little baby fever (even though I have a seven month old!) There is nothing more perfect than a newborn, and this little guy sure is something special.
This season is always so busy! Families are taking advantage of the beautiful weather, and using up the little amount of daytime we have to capture the holiday joy through way of photographs! Plus, it's the perfect time to get those Christmas card pictures ready! Here are some of the families I've gotten to have some fall fun with so far! Tis' the season!
This was my first Fall as an official "wedding photographer," and I have to say that it has been my favorite season for weddings thus far! Every girl dreams of being a "June Bride," but here in the South, Fall is the best time of year! Here are a few of my favorites from this past Fall wedding season. I was blessed with the sweetest, and most beautiful brides ever!
This year, my personal family portraits were a huge hit on facebook, so I decided to add a little story about how I capture my own family here on the blog.
Always behind the camera, I am rarely able to capture my own beautiful moments in any way other than a "selfie" on my cell phone, so I try to make it a point to have at least one formal photo session per year that is dedicated to capturing the love and growth of my own family. In years previous to this one, these "photo shoots" usually took place last minute, in our front yard, with little to no preparation, with no color or outfit coordination. These are the mediocre pictures that usually end up on our Christmas card with hopes that people will go with the old theory of , "it's the thought that counts." But, not this year. I've been working hard on the marketing and rebranding of Delaina Marie Photography (blog post coming soon about this!), and I realized that my own family portraits are a representation not only of my family, but of my business. So, this year, I made sure to make memories that are beautiful, and that I would actually want to share and display. I had this idea in my head, and I was surprised when the outcome was so much better than what I expected. I even splurged on expensive Christmas cards this year (because these pictures made it totally worth it). The colors were gorgeous, the weather was perfect, and the love was apparent. The tripod and self timer, along with a piece of seagrass on the ground to mark our spot for perfect focus were all part of the process that day. My husband even grabbed the camera a couple of times to make sure that I had some shots of just me and my sweet baby. We had so much fun! I hope you love these as much as we do :)
Delaina Marie Photography is gearing up for some big changes for 2017! Our family will be welcoming our 2nd bundle of joy in late December, early January. I will be taking a short maternity leave for January and February, and therefore will not be booking any additional events or sessions for those months (this does not apply if you are already booked), but will resume normal business in March! We are so excited about this addition, and we are ready to start booking for Spring 2017! And, as usual, here are a few photos to keep you all current!
